This is the first time in the history that women cricket is introduced in any multi-sports event .Indian women's cricket team feel proud when they step onto the Edgbaston Cricket ground to face number 1 ranked team Australia in the inaugural match of Commonwealth Games 2022 on Friday.
There are 8 teams which will participate in this event named : Australia,India, Pakistan, England, and Barbados , Sri Lanka, New zealand and South Africa .
Eight teams divided into two groups
Semi Finals Criteria
All teams play individual matches with all the teams there in one group , for instance, India will play with Australia , Barbados and Pakistan. In order to qualify for semifinals teams have to remain in top two positions in the group or top two in each group will qualify for the semifinals .
Group B is a group of death !
It has been noticed that group B is tougher to qualify for the semifinals as there are three strong teams in group B , England ( world No.2 ) New Zealand ( world No. 3 ) , South Africa ( 5 ) and Sri Lanka ( at 8 ) but on the other hand Australia and India are only two strong teams in group A which makes them easier to qualify for the semifinals.

Semifinals and Finals Schedule
Semifinal 1 : Semifinal will be held on 6 August 2022 at Edgbaston Cricket ground at 11:00 Am GMT .
Semifinal 2 : Semifinal 2 will be also played on the same day as of Semifinal 1 but at 18:00 GMT
Bronze medal match : Teams which will lose in the first and second semifinal will play for bronze medal match on 7 August 2022 and this match will start at 10:00 GMT .
Gold Medal match : Winner of semifinal 1 and semifinal 2 will play for gold medal on Sunday 7 August at 18:00 GMT and this match will also be played at Edgbaston Cricket ground.
